Tisha Black Chernine, Esq.

 

Tisha Black Chernine is the managing partner of Black & LoBello. She practices primarily in the areas of complex corporate and real estate transactions. Her focus includes corporate formation, mergers and acquisitions, real property purchase and sales, financing, distressed property foreclosures, modifications and litigation, and landlord tenant matters.  In 2011, Ms. Black Chernine participated in a working group on Nevada State Assembly Bill 284 in conjunction with the Nevada State Attorney General’s office. The Bill was signed by Governor Sandoval in June of 2011 and will change the way foreclosures are conducted in the state of Nevada. Ms. Black has taught seminars in the areas of contract law, foreclosure, premises liability, risk management, landlord/tenant law, real estate agency, ethics,  the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and securitization in the commercial and residential real estate context.

Ms. Black Chernine is also a prolific and published writer. Her articles have been published in Tax Notes, Broker Agent Magazine, CCIM Perspectives, Forbes Magazine, the Las Vegas Review Journal, the Las Vegas Sun and the Las Vegas Business Resource Guide. She continues to write weekly articles on the Black & LoBello Blog and Newsletter and has been a featured attorney and business owner in the Nevada Business Press and In Business Las Vegas. She has also been a guest speaker on several business and real estate oriented news radio and television programs.

A native Las Vegan, Ms. Black Chernine graduated from Boston University in 1993, receiving dual bachelor’s degrees in English and History. She then completed law school in Michigan in two years, and was awarded her Juris Doctor. In 1996, Ms. Black Chernine was admitted to practice law in the state of Nevada, United States District Court, District of Nevada and the Eighth Judicial District Court. She is a member of the Nevada State Bar Association and Clark County Bar Association, and the American Trial Lawyers Association. She has been recognized in Who’s Who Among American Law Students and Who’s Who Among American Lawyers. In 2011, she was chosen as a “Rising Star” by SuperLawyers, a nationally recognized publication among attorneys.

Ms. Black Chernine served two years on the Spring Valley Town Board and continues to serve on several advisory panels as well as community boards including St. Jude’s Ranch for Children. She is a Board Member of the Lied Institute for Real Estate Studies at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, and a faculty member of the National Business Institute. She is a mediator in the Nevada Foreclosure Mediator Program. She is happily married and has three children.
